The Chinese Restaurant “Mao” appeared on the culinary map of Warsaw at the end of 2017. A modern and spacious restaurant, it differs in style from classic Chinese restaurants and is becoming increasingly popular both among Warsaw residents and foreigners visiting our city, including the Chinese. The heart of the restaurant is the chef Jurek Xiao Dong, born in 1964 in Beijing. He has been passionate about cooking since childhood, graduated from the best culinary school in Beijing, and worked in the best restaurants in China, including the prestigious Restaurant Fangshan established in 1925, which was once favored by the Emperor of China. He came to Poland 21 years ago, as one of the first Chinese chefs, to work in the Cesarski Pałac restaurant. He had the opportunity to successfully cook for ministers, ambassadors and prime ministers of China who visited Poland. That is why Mao is becoming one of the most popular places among the Chinese living in Warsaw. The Chef has assembled his team based on experienced chefs from China who have tied their lives to Poland. Thanks to the desire to create a modern place in Warsaw with true Chinese flavors, the kitchen has been equipped with specially imported equipment from China, and the dishes are composed using the highest quality products from China. In order to ensure a healthy and natural taste of the dishes, the use of monosodium glutamate, so often present in oriental cuisine, has been abandoned. The dishes are served on modern porcelain, designed by young Chinese creators. The menu includes a wide list of appetizers. There are both cold appetizers - pickled cucumber, cut beef or dried tofu, and hot - fried wonton flowers or duck wings. The base of our soups is duck broth and broth with pork, all of which are served with duck, beef or pork, soy noodles, pak choi, Asian basil, shitake coriander, mollets egg, nuts, sesame, or goji berries. Every day we prepare fresh steamed dumplings in several flavors - with duck, chicken, shrimp, pork, spinach and pumpkin. We also serve traditional Chinese dishes, with Peking duck, shrimp with Asian basil and crispy duck at the forefront, along with jasmine rice and classic white cabbage salad. You will also find modern dishes such as Bao Burger or Flowers of pork tenderloin in tempura. Mao's specialty is cheesecake with matcha and fried milk served for dessert, which already has its loyal fans. Mao is also a Chinese cocktail bar, where in addition to classic cocktails there is a separate original menu inspired by the Chinese zodiac signs, created by the bar manager - Sebastian Piasecki. Their compositions are unusual combinations of flavors, scents and colors, moving all 5 senses, presented in an unusual menu card resembling playing cards. For example, the Tiger cocktail, which is served in a young coconut, with rum infused with green Matcha tea, coconut, mango, jasmine and perfumed with a hint of coconut aroma. Our menu is a composition of selected Chinese dishes, and we will prepare many dream dishes for you for a daily three-course lunch. We will provide friendly service, and we will "season" your stay with atmospheric music. From Monday to Friday we serve 3-course lunches for PLN 24.90 or for PLN 8 with lemonade to taste. We also have daily promotions, both for drinks and selected dishes, which you can check on our website www.restauracjamao.pl At your request, we will organize catering, corporate and occasional events, tailored to individual needs. We also offer all dishes to take away. We invite you every day from 12:00 to 22:00
